"Wordspit" Lets Just Say He's The Illest

Earlier this year I was fortunate enough to meet a young artist by the name of Wordspit. Little did I know I would be seeing this same young man a few weeks later in a McDonald's. Many people know him as The guy with the mic in the dollar van or as I said when I first met him that guy with all the energy. His show can almost definitely put any artist out now energy to shame. With his original style and the way that he mixes two of my favorite things Fashion and music not to mention he is manly enough to rock any hairstyle from a doubie to a afro.So lets get into the interview with this shining young man that I'm sure you will love!

So first off "Wordspit" is a name that speaks for itself yet at the same time is very unique.....So why the name Wordspit?

WordSpit- As rappers, we go through so many aliases until we find a name that fits. My name was Street'z when I started attacking the scene. I was always in the streets doing something I probably wasn't supposed to be doing so the name went with my lifestyle. Later on, I changed my name to Word From The Streetz. I felt I had grown as an artist. Not only was I getting my life back on the right track but I was narrating the lives and elements of the environment I lived in. Shortly after, my brother came to me and said, "Word, you Spit! That's your name WordSpit" and it stuck ever since.

With so many name changes in so little time we can see you are constantly updating yourself. Where are you from?

WS- I grew up in East New York, Brooklyn which is also where I live now. Most of the time I'm stuck in RapCity and If you don't know where RapCity is... that's where I roam in my Imagination. I will take you there one day, LOL!

O ok cool a fellow New Yorker, lol I'm sure there are plenty of people who would love to visit "rap City" especially the ladies. How long have you been a rapper and when was it that you realized this was more than a hobby it was actually a career?

WS- It feels like I've been rapping forever. My father's a musician so when I was younger he would bring me to his studio where I would freestyle all night. I've been on this path ever since then. So it's been a while now.- Ever since that freestyle sessions at my father studio, I knew I wanted to make Hip-Hop my career. I wasn't able to pursue it then, but soon as I became old enough to chase my dream, I went for it. I hooked up with some great people to guide me along my path. Just to mention a few, Dave J Hamilton (my manager) and Karte (Videographer shot my first music video). But there have been so many others. Big shout out to everyone who makes me ILL

I met you at a Baruch Fashion show earlier this year but many people know you as the dude with the mic in the McDonald's commercial. How does it feel when people walk up to you and say hey it the McDonald's commercial dude?

WS- Yes, it was great meeting you, LOL! The McDonald's thing is funny because the people that walk up to me saying, "I dig the commercial!" That's the last thing I thought I would hear people saying about the ad. At the end of the day, I'm glad to have had the opportunity to be apart of a national campaign. We The ILLest!

How did that commercial come along?

WS- The commercial actually came about after I did an Internet-base showcase called Dollar Van Demos. A week or two after my ‘Demo’ was featured on the site, my manager tells me that Dollar Van Demos and McDonald’s were linking up to do a commercial and they wanted me to come in so they could check me out. It was awesome! How many people can say McDonald’s personally picked them to be the face of their National ad? We The iLLest!

Like I stated before Wordspit has a ton of energy on stage. He makes his Stage Presence known there is no way you will be at one of his performances and be dead.Where does that energy come from?

WS- I try to give 100%. So when I'm on stage, it's all or nothing. My energy comes from wanting to give my audience the best show possible. I want people to leave my concert knowing I left it all on stage.

If I was a psychic I would say within the next few years we will be seeing you across our screen and blarring out of our radios but where do you see yourself in the next few years?

WS- In the next few years, I see myself making more music, doing more shows, traveling the world, and looking back on my success

A piece of me knows that Wordspit will achieve all this plus much more he just has "IT" and you don't quite know what that "it" is until you've seen or heard him upclose and personal......Make sure you remember you heard all the hype here!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I Just Really Love this Outfit LOL
